What to Expect

The first time is the charm.

We consider it a privilege that you have chosen Southeast Smiles to brighten the smile of your child! Our team is committed to providing a positive experience to all of the unique and special patients we welcome into our office everyday. We believe in a parent-directed approach in treating your child, a method designed to utilize your experience with your child.

While the dentist may be the expert in everything tooth related, we respect that parents are the experts when it comes to understanding certain traits about their child. With your help, we look forward to learning all about your little one. We also strive to maintain consistency in your individual personal philosophies, including BPA free fillings, amalgam fillings, radiographs, diet, etc. It is imperative to the success of your child’s treatment and the lifelong relationship we build, to communicate this information including any specific requests or goals you may have at each visit. We will design an approach to treatment catered the specific needs of your child to guarantee comfort and obtain optimal oral health. It is our practice philosophy that parents, if desired, are welcome in our treatment operatories while we are examining or providing treatment for your child. This allows us to cover topics of discussion related to improving your child’s oral health while providing a comfortable atmosphere for your child. Focusing on prevention and education, we provide the highest level of treatment in a friendly, gentle, fun and safe environment. At Southeast Smiles we hope to do more than meet your family’s needs. We strive to exceed your expectations.

Getting off to a great start.

We recommend scheduling your child’s first dentist appointment around the time they turn one. For this initial checkup, we ask that you arrive with enough time to fill out some information and answer a few questions.

Younger children tend to have an easier time during the earlier parts of the day when they are less tired, so please let us know if the morning would be better for you. If you think your child may have any behavioral issues during your visit, please tell us ahead of time how we can best help your appointment go smoothly.

Be sure to fill out the new patient paperwork before your first appointment!
